April 12, 2024 Molleigh Cook
rural off-grid glamping at crowdy hall, Durham

At Crowdy Hall, you’ll find a rural off-grid retreat featuring bespoke, hand-crafted cabins, each offering a secluded escape in the open countryside of County Durham. We took a trip up last autumn and stayed here for a couple days to relax and recharge after a busy summer. The family behind Crowdy Hall created these cabins with peace and rest in mind, with the freedom to explore the surrounding countryside.

EMBRACING SLOW TRAVEL - A CANAL BOAT ADVENTURE WITH ROAD HOUSE NARROWBOATS , WALES

June 30, 2023 Molleigh Cook

The UK is home to a pretty special canal network that in the past was crucial to the country’s industry. Today, the canals lend the perfect opportunity to get out on the water and appreciate life in the slow lane. The summer is a dreamy time to jump aboard and live out that canal cruising fantasy conjured up from our Rosie and Jim watching childhood. Slowly cruising along sun-dappled stretches of water, with ducks for company and welcoming waves from the friendly houseboat community, offers a truly unique travel experience like no other. Throw in sun-drenched beer gardens, pretty villages and ample wildlife spotting along the way, and you’ve got the magic ingredients for a slow and relaxing summer adventure.

January 27, 2023 Molleigh Cook

Ah, is there anything that screams adventure more than the classic road trip? THE NORTHUMBERLAND 250 ROAD TRIP

January 24, 2023 Molleigh Cook

In our many years of road tripping across the UK, we have ticked off some iconic road trips. We’ve traveled down South to discover the beautiful coasts of Cornwall, journeyed around the wildest edges of Wales, completed the NC500 route along Scotland’s most northern corners and yet, despite the number of road trips under our belt, one area has remained to us totally abandoned. That is, until this past summer. Enter the North East, the forgotten corner of the UK that should be on everyone’s radar..

A LUXURIOUS HIDEAWAY AT KIP & NOOK, YORKSHIRE

January 4, 2023 Molleigh Cook

Kip & Nook is a little patch of heaven nestled in the Yorkshire countryside and is the ultimate hideaway. As a treat for Key’s birthday this year, I booked Kip & Nook with relaxation and luxury in mind and we were treated to both and then some. Kip & Nook has a collection of unique and quirky places to stay from cosy containers and off-grid hideaways to a barn big enough for 8 guests. There is a stay for everyone in mind. We opted to stay in Big Bro, the newest addition to the Kip and Nook family and had everything we needed for a couple nights of relaxation.
