CYNEFIN RETREATS
I am a cabin retreat fanatic at this point. Give me a quirky accommodation and a heaped dose of countryside and I swoon. So, when my friend Emily suggested we take a little trip, I couldn’t have said yes quicker. After endless searching for the perfect getaway, Emily found Cynefin Retreats. Set amongst woodlands and lush meadows, Cynefin’s pods and lodges offer luxurious outdoor-indoor getaways. Set on the Welsh borders, with the nearest town of Hay-On-Wye, Cynefin is heaven for fellow countyside-seekers. We chose to stay in a luxe pod called Hazel which had everything we needed for a unique stay. The luxe pods offer a modern stylish escape, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows that slide open to the deck and the views of the meadows beyond. Each pod has a super comfy bed, an en-suite with waterfall shower and an open-plan living/kitchen/dining area. There is under-floor heating and a log-burner to keep nice and cosy, which was perfect for the wintery weather we had during our stay! Each pod also has a hot-tub on the decking which is the most luxurious addition, and is the perfect place to watch the stars when night falls. We had the loveliest stay. For those searching for fresh air, there is access to the woodlands and nearby hiking trails that show off the beauty of the welsh borders. Cynefin also has the luxury of being a 10-minute drive from Hay-On-Wye and minutes away from a pub which makes this getaway an absolute gem to discover. We spent our days going for wintery walks and mooching around Hay before retreating back to our hideaway for hot-tub dips and marshmallow toasting.
